Gentrification in Harlem
How do you feel about the gentrification/changes occurring in Harlem?
"I feel change is good but I feel we (black) people are being priced out of the market. I live in the Esplanade (Gardens) but it is not affecting me as long as I can pay the rent."
Has any of the gentrification occurring in Harlem affected you directly or indirectly, and ifso, is it negative or positive?
"All these new places come available, they are $1,000.00 a month. My daughter is a realtor and she says black people are being priced out. She lives near Marcus Garvey Park and the prices are enormous. Brownstones are selling for $1.5 million; what black can afford this?"
