Gentrification in Harlem
How do you feel about the gentrification/changes occurring in Harlem?
"One, it's good in a way, the community is being beautified. Two, it's knocking out the middle class and who made the community what it is. The history is being lost. Third, the educational system is being degraded by having over crowding, lack of books and materials. This has to change."
Has any of the gentrification occurring in Harlem affected you directly or indirectly, and ifso, is it negative or positive?
"It has affected me indirectly because I am self-employed. Two, it is negative, a lot of the jobs in the community are lost. Third, a lot of people have been evicted because of high rents."
